Native to Western Slope of Colorado, this “hedgehog” cactus forms tight colonies of individual barrels of up to 25-30 in each cluster. These are the cactus that hummingbirds seek, with large bright red flowers. Very well behaved cactus that stays in it’s clump and doesn’t spread like some other types.
