Lovely member of the pea family, this tree has delicate lavender flowers shortly after most of the fruit trees are done flowering. With flowers emerging before the leaves, it comes alive with the hum of bees collecting nectar and pollinating. Flowers turn to pea like pods and all parts of this tree are edible. An understory tree in it’s native habitat from the U.S. mid-west to Mexico, it reaches a height of about 25’ and spreads to about 15’ wide. #5 pots these trees are about 3-4’ tall
